So the interview process started with a chat with the hiring manager. Then, there was a second round, which was a panel interview. It included the hiring manager again and two other finance managers. One of them was from the business unit I was applying to, and the other was from a different one.

Behavioral Technical Case

Started with a phone screen from HR. If they liked you, you'd get an email with an interview day schedule. The interview day is 4 hours long and includes 2 interviews with managers and directors, an assessment, and a casual chat over lunch/coffee with a current analyst. It's pretty straightforward, but some questions are designed to trip you up, so you have to stay sharp. The managers and directors notice everything. It felt like they were looking for a specific type of person and weren't really open to diverse backgrounds, especially since the two analysts I met had similar backgrounds to me. I'm all for diversity, not uniformity.

So after a quick phone screen, the real interview was a full day event at the Valley Forge campus. It kicked off with an intro to the company and a deep dive into their customer-owned structure. Then, we had a short discussion period on a topic we were given ahead of time. This group discussion had all 8 people interviewing that day and some HR folks watching. After that, we split off for two one-on-one interviews and also had an Excel activity. The Excel activity was 45 minutes long and checked our basic financial analysis and Excel skills. The day also included lunch and a group Q&A session.
