It began with an online assessment from Arctic Shores, then a first‑round screening call with a recruitment agency, which was then followed by two video interviews. It was a bit weird overall as the recruiter didn't seem to know much about the company.

Behavioral Technical

I got selected for an initial phone interview for the Senior Policy Analyst position at Vanguard. The interviewer emailed me less than 30 minutes before our scheduled time asking to reschedule. I agreed, and we rescheduled for the following Monday. However, the interviewer was over 10 minutes late for the rescheduled interview. The interview seemed to go well, and the interviewer even suggested I increase my desired pay range based on my experience and the role. At the end of the interview, I wasn't told about the next steps, but rather that I would definitely be moving on to the second round and should expect a calendar invite within a day or two. We even discussed my availability. I never got a response to my thank you email or my follow-up email. After more than a week, I received an automated email stating they had hired someone else. This process was highly unprofessional, and I've never had an interview experience like it before, which doesn't inspire confidence in pursuing a career here.

The interview process started with a CV review, followed by a 20-minute phone chat covering basic questions like your interest in investment management, Vanguard, and your passions. Next, there was a half-day in-person assessment which included several 2-on-1 interviews and a group case study focused on macroeconomic topics. Finally, a last in-person interview tested cultural fit and technical knowledge.
