The interview process has 3 parts. First, a 15-30 minute meeting with the president, Meg, where we discussed leadership experiences, my 5-year plan, and why I'd be a good fit. I heard back the same day about moving on. The second interview was an Event Review Interview at a Sam's Club. I had trouble finding the right person initially. I observed a product demonstration and was asked about marketing techniques and other questions. The interview continued in the cafe area. I asked about turnover rate, but the interviewer didn't understand the question. She explained a rotation schedule of working 9-11 days straight with 2 days off. The pay structure seemed commission-based. I realized this wasn't the job for me about halfway through, but I finished the interview. The job description was misleading about the actual work involved, which was standing in Sam's Club trying to sell products. I will decline if an offer is made.

The interview process was very thorough. I went to a short interview at the office and met Meg, who was very professional, but approachable. We discussed my five year plan, talked about why I would be a good candidate, and went over my past experience. Meg told me that if I were selected for a second round, I'd get a call by a certain time that day. I liked this approach, because I would know by the end of the day the results of my interview. Super eager when I got the call, I requested to do my second round the very next day. I met with one of the leaders, who was very serious, but friendly enough. She showed me around, and explained all the things like pay, growth, and all the logistics. Meg called me the next day, and as much as I liked her and her company, I decided to pursue a career in another field. Overall, the process was efficient and professional, and I am glad I got that experience!

I only had the first interview round, but they wanted me to come back for a second "event interview." I declined after reading reviews because the "president" Meg, misrepresented the job. I thought it was a real marketing and communications role with press release writing and marketing plan development, but it's actually six months of pushing products at Sam's Club for their "events." I saw reviews about a 9-10 day work week with two days off, and bad commission pay, so I knew it wasn't for me. I'm really mad the company misrepresented the job in the posting. It feels totally unethical. If I had known the real job, I wouldn't have driven two hours to Raleigh for a 10-minute interview.
