The interview was really professional and put together well. It felt like they were ready for me. The vibe was good and supportive, friendly but still professional. I liked how structured everything was, how they communicated clearly, and I had a good time overall.

We start with intros between the interviewer and candidate, some small talk about your current job and needs. Then some info gathering about benefits and challenges through Q&A. This is the part most interviewers focus on, but don't plan well. Questions should be planned ahead to make sure we gather enough of the right info for the hiring process. Each candidate gets the same questions and is measured against the same benchmark. Finally, we wrap up.

I was reached out to by a recruiter who thought I would be a good fit for Vanderlande. The recruiter felt I had the basic qualifications and also knew the industry Vanderlande works in. Apparently Vanderlande is a very technical company looking for someone with mechanic skills and management experience. It's hard to find someone like that because mechanics usually stay mechanics and managers might not know how to do hands-on work. But most companies now want a perfect candidate who can do everything.
