Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vanderlande Industries.
Engineer
The HR and interviewer were really nice. They asked some pretty simple questions that were easy to get. You should get ready to talk about your previous jobs. They might ask about what you did on a new post, for example.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you discuss your previous work experiences?
- What contributions did you make to the new post?
Engineer
The job description did not match the actual job requirements, which was discovered during the technical interview. This has made the process take a lot of time. Apply to this company with caution.
- Could you introduce yourself?
Service Engineer
It started with an invite to a meeting with the direct manager and a senior recruiter. They introduced themselves. The recruiter talked about how she got hired there randomly and how she just decided to try it out. While I was introducing myself, she was on her computer and didn't really pay attention, which really threw me off. I wondered if it was a test. They said they'd call by Wednesday, but no one did. I emailed on Friday and got a call right away. She said the first interview went well and promised an email with requirements. The email asked for my status, passport, age, diploma, salary expectations, and other details, which I sent back immediately. Still no word. I tried emailing again to follow up, but no response. I called the company and asked if they could tell the recruiter I was looking for an update. No one called or emailed back. That's when I realized she wasn't paying attention during my intro because it wasn't a test. I checked the careers page and saw I was rejected. I'm sure my qualifications matched the interview and the documents I sent. I'm frustrated I won't know why I was rejected. This wasn't an initial application; it was the result of an interview. I feel I deserved to be informed, especially since they considered me a potential employee after my first application and invited me for an interview. Even if my salary expectations were too high, they should have told me. That wouldn't have been a problem. I don't think this recruitment process is a good way to hire people. Being upfront and honest wouldn't hurt the interviewee.
