It was a very long process with HR initially, taking time to get back after showing interest. However, once I got into the interview process with the direct managers, it became much smoother with fewer delays. The questions focused on the job itself and technical skills.

I wasn't actively looking but a recruiter reached out. I spoke with her and the role seemed really interesting. The team, culture, and role details gave me a good sense of expectations and piqued my interest. I kept going and met with HR, the hiring manager, and the regional director. The process was smooth, communication was good, and everyone asked relevant questions that helped me grasp the team's objectives. Each chat was engaging and felt real, making it one of my best interview experiences.

I was first contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn about a Sales Manager role for a new boutique and had a great conversation about the role. I had a solid understanding of the position and my initial questions were answered. I was then invited for an in person interview at the corporate office and had a wonderful conversation with the Boutique Director and HR, and then had a final meeting with the SVP of Retail. With every conversation, I felt the passion and drive for the business from everyone I met with. Everyone represented the company so well and I knew it was a place I could envision myself.

I've had several interview experiences with Van Cleef & Arpels and I have to question the seriousness and transparency of their recruitment process. Going through seven interviews for a similar position over two years without any real progress or concrete feedback shows a glaring lack of professionalism. There's a total lack of clarity and follow-up. The values the company claims to uphold – particularly ethics, transparency, and HR excellence – seem very far from the reality experienced by candidates. At no point did the process show real transparency about the job expectations or selection criteria. We just kept having interviews without ever understanding where we stood or why another round was necessary. It's a disregard for the candidates' time and investment to go through the same steps, repeat the same information, and meet different interviewers only to receive no constructive feedback. It makes you wonder if this is a serious recruitment process or a fake talent management exercise. If such a prestigious company doesn't know how to manage its recruitment rigorously, how can it claim excellence in human resources management? The HR values are contradictory to reality. On their official website, Van Cleef & Arpels highlights a company culture based on transparency and talent support. However, the experience I had completely contradicts these fine words. A company that preaches transparency should at least respect candidates and offer them clear visibility into their recruitment journey. In short, this kind of behavior is unworthy of a renowned luxury house and should make candidates think twice before investing time and energy in such an arbitrary and frustrating process.
