i applied and then got called for an interview. i speak english as my mother tongue but they asked me to speak finnish as much as i could, which i did, and i completed the entire interview in finnish. i thought it would leave a good impression but it turned out it didn't matter. i'm a dark-skinned man and maybe that played a role. a former school mate of mine, who is lighter-skinned, got the same job and he did his interview in english, so that explains it.

A entrevista ocorreu em duas etapas. A primeira foi com o analista de RH, e a segunda contou com a presença de dois gestores e o analista de RH. O ambiente era descontraído e sem pressão. Eles foram muito abertos e receptivos, me deixaram à vontade para contar minha trajetória profissional. Não houve muitas perguntas além das relevantes para avaliar as habilidades para a vaga. O nível de inglês também foi testado, pois é obrigatório na empresa multinacional.

It was a pretty standard interview process. The HR person was nice and kept the conversation light. I first applied online, then had a video interview where I had to record answers to some questions. After that, they scheduled a 30-minute interview. I thought it went well and I was moving on, but then I got a rejection email. They said they needed someone who spoke Portuguese for the job, which I understood.
