First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vallourec & Sumitomo Tubos do Brasil.
Intern
The interview process involved only one stage, with no publicly advertised selection process, relying solely on referrals from company insiders. The duration was a maximum of 2 hours, including conversations with managers from the area where the internship would take place, and a written essay where you had to talk about your journey of evolution as a professional and a person.
- Do you see yourself working in the commercial area, or do you have ambitions for the more technical area of oil?
- Have you ever studied abroad?
- Tell me about a time you overcame a challenge.
Intern
first there were online tests through the vagas platform. some were selected for a group activity where everyone introduced themselves, then they were divided into two groups and a dynamic was carried out where the proposed situation was for a company to build a company where there was a leisure square built by residents where before there was a vacant lot. one group was the company representative and the other the residents, those who passed the dynamic were called for an interview with the manager.
- Tell me about your area of interest.
- Describe your university trajectory.
Technical Intern
It was great, I was evaluated in a way I never imagined and I think it gave me an advantage to get in. For example, the lady who interviewed me asked if I knew how to make a pivot table in Excel and I said no, she explained how to do it and asked if I wanted to try. On the first try, I managed to do it and was congratulated for my effort, unlike other people who went through the interview and lied saying they knew how to do it when they didn't. But it was God who helped me do it, if it weren't for Him, I don't think I would have succeeded.
- Why should I hire you?
