First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vale.
Process Engineer
It was a pretty chill interview process. First, an HR screening just confirmed the basics on my resume. Then there were a few basic behavioral questions, but no actual technical discussion. They mostly talked about their own careers.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle an ambiguous situation.
Process Engineer
I had an interview with HR, it was about 30 to 40 minutes long, just with the HR person in charge. The interview only had questions about my professional and academic background.
- What's the biggest challenge you've faced in your professional career?
Process Engineer
I interviewed directly with my future supervisor. It wasn't at Vale, it was more casual. They asked about my personality, not really engineering stuff. I talked about the benefits and plant processes. A week later, I accepted the offer. Two weeks after that, I went to the plant site to meet the supervisor who hired me, only to find out he quit for a better opportunity.
