Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vale.
Risk Manager
The process took about 6 months, which felt like a long time. I spoke with the hiring manager, a technical manager who is an internal client, and the director of the department. Sadly, after all that, they decided to hire someone else.
- Can you share your experience?
- What are your areas of expertise?
Management Trainee
The group dynamic involved a case study. They deliberately gave us a short time to discuss and solve it because the real goal was to assess our argumentation, persuasion, leadership, and teamwork skills. On the same day, right after the dynamic, they called us one by one for a private interview in English. At the end of it, the interviewer (who also led the group dynamic) gave general feedback on our performance in this stage (dynamic + interview).
- Could you tell us about yourself?
- What were your responsibilities in your previous role?
- What are your hobbies or leisure activities?
People Manager
The interview process was interesting. The interviewers were polite and friendly. I was well received by both the HR team and the area manager. I don't remember more details because the interview happened in June/2019
