First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vail Systems.
Software Engineer
I had a phone call with HR first, and then there was one round that was a mix of behavioral and coding questions. We talked about company practices and benefits, and also did some coding and explained the time complexity of the code I wrote.
- How could your solution be improved for better efficiency?
- Could you explain the time complexity associated with your solution?
- What are your views on how the company operates?
UX Designer
The whole process took a while and wasn't super clear. Around a month after applying, a recruiter contacted me about a 30-minute video call. The questions were pretty straightforward and relevant to the job. The recruiter asked about my salary expectations but didn't give me a pay range, saying they didn't have one, which felt a bit odd. Then, about a week later, I had another interview with the hiring manager, which was also quite easy. After that, I heard nothing for weeks, and even when I followed up, the recruiter didn't provide any updates.

- What's your approach to training AI?
NOC Technician
Had an HR phone screen where they checked if I was a good fit and if I was interested. Then a phone screen with the NOC Manager to talk about past work experience and technologies I know. Finally, an on-site interview with the NOC Manager, VP of Ops, and Manager of Ops, which was similar to the phone screen but covered more about background, experience, and goals.
- Can you describe your general technical background?
- Which technologies are you familiar with and have you used?
- Tell me about your previous work experience.
Software Infrastructure Engineer
The interview process involved a 30-minute vendor round. A third-party vendor or recruitment partner mainly led the discussion. They focused on basic screening, validating the profile, discussing work experience and projects, checking technical fundamentals for the role, assessing communication and interpersonal skills, and inquiring about salary expectations and availability.
- Could you start by introducing yourself and walking me through your resume?
- Tell me about your testing questions.
- Can you discuss your DevOps experience?
