The interview process was pretty standard. I went through interviews for this or a similar position at a few different resorts before I got the job at Vail. For the Vail role, it was a mix of individual and group interviews.

I applied for 3 different roles of similar caliber across the Rocky Mountain resorts. Once I got my initial interview for Keystone my resume was shared with Breckenridge and Vail hiring managers. I got to the final round with Vail and was hired, The process took 6 months.

Behavioral Technical

After I applied online, a recruiter reached out for a phone interview. I made time for a 30-minute chat and did some research on the department, but the 10-minute call from the recruiter was unexpected. She asked about four questions, and only two were related to my work experience. She followed each answer with 'fantastic!'. Then she asked if I had any questions. I asked about the team and hierarchy, and her answer was very brief. When I tried to ask another question, she cut me off and said, 'If you have no further questions...'. It was quite baffling. She also used a slightly different title for the position than what was in the job listing. I did ask about the hiring timeline, and she said she would pass my info to the hiring manager and expected to be in touch within a few days, but I heard nothing. She didn't reply to my thank you email or a follow-up email a week later asking for a status update. It gave me a really poor impression of Vail Resorts!
