Sales Development Representative
The interview process was going pretty well up until the last chat with a senior manager. He asked me the same question over and over in a way that felt condescending. He even asked if I would take a job that was a step down from what I applied for. It felt like he had already decided I wasn't the right fit before we even spoke. The recruiter was super responsive at first, but after that last interview, they went quiet. I had to reach out multiple times just to find out I didn't get the job.
- What's your approach to prospecting a lead?
Sales Development Representative
I applied for 2 different positions and the process was pretty similar. First, a recruiter reached out to let me know I was being considered and to schedule a phone interview. After that, the in-person interview was set up quickly, like within a day or so. The in-person interview was about an hour long, with good questions and a good conversation. For the first job, I got an email a week later saying I didn't get it. But for the second one, I got a phone call the very next day offering me the job.
- What would you do if a team member wasn't contributing their fair share?
Sales Development Representative
The person I spoke with was very thorough and asked some great questions. She seemed really into the company and did a good job describing what it's like to work there. It was just a phone call. She asked about my background and we went through my resume from most recent to oldest. I'd suggest having your resume ready and being comfortable talking about your previous jobs.
- Can you describe a past situation and how you dealt with it?
- How can your previous experiences help address a challenge at Vacasa?
