V3 Electric Interview Questions
& Process

I applied and was contacted via email to schedule an in-person interview at the Corona location. When I arrived 10 minutes early, I found a crowded bullpen with about 9 other candidates. Nobody greeted me, and there was no front desk. I was told by another candidate to sign in and fill out an application. The sign-in sheet showed 20-25 people scheduled for interviews that day. While I was filling out the application, three more candidates arrived for interviews scheduled at the same time, indicating double-booking. I could overhear an interview happening in a room with a large window facing the waiting area, allowing all other candidates to see and hear it. Another candidate mentioned she had been waiting an hour and a half for her 3:00 interview, and she wasn't the only one. After waiting 30 minutes past my scheduled time, I saw a person emerge with a candidate and ask, "ok, whose next?" I decided to leave before my interview because of the disorganized and unprofessional environment, questioning what kind of experience candidates would have if I were to work there. This experience made me realize that if this is how they treat candidates, it reflects poorly on the business and could damage their reputation. My advice to management is to consider the candidate's perspective: they are nervous and in an unfamiliar setting. Candidates need to be greeted, given clear instructions, and not made to wait excessively long or sit in a room with many others. This disorganized process is not an environment I would want to work in or recruit for.

The interview process was straightforward and swift. Upon arrival, I waited in the lobby before being called in. I arrived 10 minutes before my 1pm slot and there were a few other candidates, but for different roles. After 15 minutes, I was called in and interviewed in an office. The interviewer was direct and focused on her questions. I had about 30 minutes to explain who I am and express myself. It was helpful that we found common ground on a few topics, which eased my nervousness. Observing the lobby environment, V3 electric seems to live up to its reputation for a team-oriented workplace. I valued the time spent and meeting the people I did. I just got home and don't have an offer yet. This is my account of the V3 interview.

I got there a little early and checked in on a tablet. The receptionist mentioned there were others waiting, but offered me coffee and a seat in the lobby. My first interview was short with basic screening questions, and the interviewer took notes from a form. I waited in the lobby again. Then, the manager interviewed me, which felt like the main interview. He was really nice and naturally brought up interview questions during our chat. He asked the usual questions at the end, and I also learned a lot about the company and him. They called me later that day to offer me the job.

I applied for the programmer job online. I got an email the next day asking me to come in for an interview. The interviewer didn't do any small talk and started asking questions right away. She asked questions back to back and never asked me to elaborate. The whole thing was only 10 minutes. None of the questions seemed to be related to the job. She said I'd hear back in a week, but I'm not sure what's going on.
