So, the interview process had a few steps. It started with a quick chat with a recruiter, pretty standard stuff. The main thing you have to do is this writing task. The recruiter told me to download a free trial of the exam material to get a feel for the questions and how they explain the answers. Then, you get a set of writing assignments: create new questions, answer some they give you and explain why that answer is right, and even make a visual to go with an answer. It took a good chunk of time to get the sample just right, making sure it fit the UWorld style. After I submitted it, they gave me feedback to revise and resubmit, which was a collaborative editing process. The last part was meeting the team director, the subject matter experts, and some execs in person. It's a bit of a process, but it really shows you what the job is like and how the team works together.

So the process starts with a call from the recruiter, then there's an assignment, and finally an onsite interview. The assignment is the really rough part. It's a super long task where you have to write stuff and answer MCat questions. After I finished it and sent it back, they said my writing wasn't good enough and wasn't really like the MCat style. This felt weird to me because I copied the examples they gave. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a common thing with this company. Honestly, I wouldn't bother with them.

The interview process at UWorld was pretty easy and uncomplicated: first a quick phone interview, then a writing sample assignment, and finally an in-person interview in Dallas. The writing sample took me about two days to finish, but the tasks were very similar to the actual job, so it was a good way to get a feel for what the job would be like. Coming from academia, I always spent at least that much time preparing materials for academic job interviews, and those were more nerve-wracking. All in all, interviewing at UWorld was a good experience.
