Went through 3 interview rounds over 3 months. Got an offer at the same time as another PI. I was asked to reject the other offer and fill out HR paperwork for them to finalize my offer, with the assurance that rejecting the other offer would secure this one. I was told my offer letter would arrive in about 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, I got an email from the company website stating I was rejected for the position. I've tried to get information from both the PI and the HR rep, but they've been non-responsive. They didn't respond for over a week. Then, their internal recruiting team contacted me to reapply for the same position, and I received multiple emails asking to discuss the "miscommunication" regarding my application. Overall, I don't recommend the pediatric department for research; they appear to be disorganized at best, and malicious or underhanded with their recruiting practices at worst.

I applied online, then got a call for an interview with a professor. We talked about my research history, and he told me about his work and asked if I had questions. For about 20 minutes, I explained my past research, and he asked some questions about techniques. Then, he explained his research for about 20 minutes. It was a pretty relaxed chat, but that might change depending on the specific job.
