The process felt a bit strange because they use AI for the initial steps, sending automated emails like "We have reviewed your assessment and believe". It felt like a computer, not a person, made the decision. Then, they require you to record a video of yourself using your own tech. You submit this video without seeing who's evaluating it. They keep your video, possibly take screenshots, and have your personal answers stored as voice-to-text. There's no opportunity to interview the company yourself. It really felt like I was just a DEI checkbox. I couldn't opt out of the recording, storage, or choose a live virtual interview instead of their automated, impersonal system. It seems like they might be using this automation to be lazy, scan your 'optional' racial background beforehand, or to avoid hiring people of certain races, ages, etc. If this kind of impersonal, automated approach works for you, then go ahead and apply, but be prepared for it. I found the whole experience uncomfortable and riddled with judgmental, lazy standards. I'd expect the same robotic and unpleasant interaction if they were to come to my home.

USIC is great about getting back to you and making the process fast and simple. There is a video and sum questions at first then a video interview. This is my second time applying for this position the first time i was told they felt i live too far from Austin. Advised me to keep looking on the website to find a position that was closer to my home.

It was a pretty straightforward interview. They focused a lot on safety questions and asked about hypothetical situations. I got to ask questions too and they were really descriptive in their answers. They explained the job and its requirements clearly, and also gave me a rundown of what a typical day would be like.

First there was a phone interview, then an in person interview. If you get an offer, you will be put into a training class with about 14 people. The interviewer asked questions about my personality, if I can work overtime, and what I like to do when I'm not working. The questions seemed to be about how well I work with others and my responsibility level.
