Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at USI Insurance Services.
Analyst
First, there was a phone call with a recruiter. They asked some really basic questions to get a sense of your experience and if you were interested. Then, there was a video call with the director of the analytic program and the manager of the region. They asked more in-depth questions about behavior and your skills.
- How would you rate your Excel skills on a scale of 1 to 10?
- Tell me about projects you have worked on.
Claims Analyst
Got referred by a friend and applied. Recruiter reached out via email to schedule a phone interview about my skills and background, which I cleared. Then we set up an in-person interview on site for later. I was expecting three interviewers but there were only two. They asked me similar questions about my insurance experience, specifically with handling medical-only claims, my background in workers compensation, and my adjuster experience. They also asked about a start date and I mentioned an upcoming vacation. After sending thank you emails, the hiring manager followed up about the vacation details, which I provided. Then I heard nothing back, even after a follow-up email. I'll probably get a generic rejection email later.
- Tell me about your background with medical only claims.
- Can you describe your experience with workers compensation?
- What is your experience as an adjuster?
Analyst
The whole hiring thing took around 6 weeks. Started with a recruiter chat. Then, there were in-office interviews with a few managers and the office president.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
