It was four stages. First, a phone interview. Then, I had an in-person meeting with several managers. After that, I had another in-person meeting with the Director of Project Management, and finally, a skype call with the Head of Delivery.

Behavioral Presentation

I had 2 interviews for a senior PM role at usablenet. First, a 30 min chat with the Director of Project Management. This helped me get what they were looking for, how the company is set up, and I got positive feedback the same day to move forward. The second interview, planned 3 days later, was supposed to be with one service line director and one sales lead, but it ended up being with 2 service lines directors. Both interviews were good, with a clear overview of the company and the profile they wanted. A third optional interview was planned but it didn't happen. I got very good feedback after both interviews, but wasn't selected because they decided to promote someone internally instead.

The interview was a bit of a mess. The interviewer was 10 minutes late, apparently held up on a call, but didn't say sorry or explain. They didn't have my resume, and when they found one, it seemed like they hadn't even looked at it. They seemed disengaged, turning their chair to face the door, so I had to twist to see them, and they kept looking at people walking by until someone brought them paperwork. They couldn't explain what the job actually involves, or where a senior PM fits in their siloed structure, or who I'd report to, just saying "depends" when asked directly. No questions were asked that let me sell myself. They asked more about my previous company than about me. The interview felt over before it really began.
