The process involved a 45-minute interview with multiple interviewers who asked fair, moderate STAR questions. It wasn't too difficult. Following the interview, a writing assessment was required to be completed and submitted within an hour.

The interview process could start out as a preliminary meet and greet, very informal. Don't be surprised if the hiring authority has 10 or more applicants in the waiting room if you are interviewing early. The second interview is formal and panel based with two or more people attending who rate your answers. You are only allowed to ask questions after the panel interview concludes. You must answer the questions properly or you get a poor score and kiss your candidacy goodbye. So be prepared with proper answers, short examples, then keep your mouth shut. For the most part, it seems everyone I've met likes serving veterans.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I haven't received the results yet. I was a bit surprised that the overall mission of the VA and Veterans wasn't discussed at all. The two interviewers were polite, punctual, and allowed me ample time to respond. As expected, they remained unresponsive to my answers, just silence after I finished. This was a first for me; I had to prompt them to let them know I was done answering.
