Investment Banking Analyst
This was a four-round interview process, with a mix of technical and behavioral questions. It's pretty much what you'd expect for investment banking interviews. Just make sure you're solid on the basics and can talk about yourself and your experience effectively.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your motivation for pursuing a career in Investment Banking?
Investment Banking Analyst
I had my first interview with a Junior Banker, then my second interview with a Senior Banker, and my third interview was with the MD COO. Everything seemed really positive after the third round too, and even though they told me they were moving me forward, I just never heard back from them.
- Regarding the Series 7 exam, am I going to get it?
Investment Banking Analyst
So first up, there was a 30-minute valuation test in Excel. They gave us financial statements and documents for a company, and we had to do an overall analysis and valuation. The main question was whether we should give them debt or equity financing, and why. Then, it was four interviews back-to-back with associates and VPs. If you got through those, you then spoke with the SVP and then the director.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
- What are your thoughts on why one would opt for debt versus equity financing?
- Can you explain the three main financial statements and how they connect?
