Investment Banking Analyst
I had my first interview with a Junior Banker, then my second interview with a Senior Banker, and my third interview was with the MD COO. Everything seemed really positive after the third round too, and even though they told me they were moving me forward, I just never heard back from them.
- Regarding the Series 7 exam, am I going to get it?
Investment Banking
I applied through LinkedIn and got contacted by the HR manager the very next day. He called me the following morning without any prior email or contact, which was super unprofessional. He jumped right into asking about myself and my resume. He didn't even check if I was free to talk. I sent a thank you note to their careers email and followed up again a week later, but still no reply. This whole thing just shows how disorganized and unprofessional the firm is. I'm considering withdrawing my application.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
- Why are you interested in investment banking?
- On a scale of 1 to 10, how familiar are you with financial statements?
Analyst
You'll start with the HR Manager for the first interview. If you make it past that, they'll set up a chat with the director about a week later. Pass that and you'll get an offer, which you have a couple of weeks to decide on.
- Could you tell me about your background?
- What are your expectations from this role/company?
- What are your career aspirations for the next 5 years?
Intern
Super fast from applying to interviewing. The way they do things has changed since others interviewed. You have to sit with other candidates and do a test of the work. It's to see your skills, focused on figuring out if a company can get credit. Then you talk to other people in the office who ask you the same things. It feels like you're being herded around to different spots and then back. This was not the place for me. People, calm down, you're not Goldman Sachs, you're trying too hard.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
