Assistant Manager
The application process was pretty smooth initially, but then the HR person just stopped responding without giving any updates about my final interview. For a company like URC, this initial experience is a bit of a red flag for me. This happened 4 years ago, so I'm not sure if the same HR person is still working there.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult situation at work.

You submit your application and wait for the interview date. Once the date is set, HR will interview you first with general HR questions, which are pretty easy. Then, if HR approves, you'll have an interview with the department manager for the role you applied for. This interview will have way more detailed and technical questions about your experiences and what you can bring to the company.

The process was fast, completed within a week. I applied on LinkedIn on Monday, and HR called that same afternoon for an initial interview the next day. On Tuesday morning, I had the initial interview, followed by an online assessment. Then, the department head called for an interview the following day. On Wednesday morning, I had a one-on-one interview with the department head. It was a very casual interview, and at the end, he asked how he would know I'm interested in the job. He then gave me a calling card with something written on the back and told me to call the client, go to her place, interview her, and create a 3-page report. The department head gave me a one-week deadline, saying that if I didn't complete it, it meant I wasn't interested. This felt like a waste of effort because the client's location was in Caloocan, and I'm from Pasig.
- Could you please introduce yourself and share your perspective on current events in Hong Kong?
- How can I be sure of your interest in this position?
- Please conduct an interview with the client and prepare a three-page report.
Intern
I received a text message about an interview scheduled for a specific date and time. When I arrived, I had to wait about 5-10 minutes before the interviewer came. They confirmed I was the applicant and introduced themselves. We went into a room where I was asked to sit and prepare. The interview lasted 45 minutes. Afterwards, I was given an application form to fill out, with the interviewer occasionally checking on me. The form included basic biodata and an essay question.
