Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Urban Company.
Data Analyst
it was a great interview and the people were nice. I was declined though and no reason was given. Overall it was a good experience, I was expecting more examination and explanation though. I wasn't able to contact them afterwards. I don't know what else to write.
- Tell me about your experience level and how you approach stressful situations.
Data Analyst
First, I had to complete a take-home assignment with an easy SQL question and a medium Python question. Then, I had a technical interview where they asked some medium-level SQL questions, similar to the assignment, focusing on Joins and Window functions.
- Questions about Joins, window functions, and self joins were asked.
Data Analyst
The interview had three parts: first, a phone chat, then a technical test, and finally a combined technical and HR interview. For prep, make sure you have a good intro ready and can talk about a project you know well. Also, brush up on SQL, both the basics and stuff like Window Functions.
- Can you tell us about your background, what skills you have, and your experience?
- Could you explain SQL concepts such as GROUP BY, HAVING, WHERE, ORDER BY, and how to rename columns?
- We'd like you to solve some practical use cases to show your SQL knowledge.
