The company's office was pretty nice, and the front desk person was really cool to talk to. The first interview went well, and the interviewer was upfront about the demanding nature of the job, which I'm fine with. However, the second interview was a major turn-off. An 8-hour interview felt less like an interview and more like free work or training. While the initial interview was professional, the rest of the company's image felt off. Their website was a mess, making it hard to figure out what they actually do, and their global presence claims seemed to contradict their Charlotte-centric branding. Ultimately, everything after the first interview made me rule out Uptown Consulting as a long-term career possibility.

The hiring process was pretty straightforward. After submitting a one-page application and resume, a hiring manager reviewed them and called candidates in based on arrival order. They explained the company and the interview process. Everyone applying for any role is considered for the commission-based Entry Level Account Manager position, regardless of prior experience. Promotions are based on merit, with managers having started in entry-level roles. The typical promotion timeline is 18 months. The interviewer was upfront, professional, and friendly. The company could streamline the process by reviewing applications before interviews. Initial interviews are brief phone calls (5-10 minutes) asking fundamental questions.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a really involved process. First, you had a round that was all about how well you communicate and build rapport. Then, the second round tested how quickly you can learn; they let you use a notebook for a quiz. The final round focused on your confidence and knowledge – if you're paying attention and know you can succeed, you really need to convince the manager!

  • At the end of the second round, I was asked to analyze the various skills acquired during customer consultations.
