Software Engineer
I applied online and then had a 30-minute call with a senior engineer. They asked about my background and what I was interested in, and told me about the job. After that, I got a Codility take-home test with 3 coding problems that were medium difficulty and I had 12 hours to do them. It took me all night. Then I had two Zoom interviews back-to-back: a technical one and a behavioral one. The first interview was an hour long and all coding, like LeetCode medium-hard. The behavioral interview was super short because the interviewer saw I had 4 years of experience already, so they just asked a couple of culture questions. I got the offer pretty quickly, within a week.
- Find the path from root to a leaf in a binary tree that has the most distinct values.
- What is the minimum number of horizontal brush strokes required to paint a skyline?
- Determine if a given word can be found within a grid of letters.
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard: there was a screen, a coding challenge, a brief chat about my answers, and then an onsite interview. The onsite involved system design, a coding challenge, discussing past experience, and a culture fit discussion. It's a shame that even after I traveled all the way for the onsite, they couldn't be bothered to reply with their decision or any feedback. Other reviews seem to confirm this; it appears they're rejecting applicants to keep their offer rate low.
- Could you solve the FizzBuzz problem?
- Can you explain recursion?
Software Engineer
There were a few phone interviews and then a timed coding challenge. After that, there was an in-person technical and personality interview. I think reading 'Grokking Algorithms' by Aditya Bhargava would be helpful for the in-person technical part. Honestly, the number of steps in the interview process seems excessive.
- Questions about linked lists and some general architecture.
- General architectural questions.
