Software Engineer
I went through an automated technical interview that had 3 time-limited video questions and 1 easy algorithm question. After that, there was a quick video interview with an HR person and my profile was approved on the platform. I thought I was applying for a specific role, but it turns out I was just qualifying to join their network so I could apply to jobs listed there. Each job application might have more interviews. Most of those jobs aren't really worth it and I didn't get any offers for the ones I did apply to.
- Can you describe a challenging problem you recently encountered and detail how you resolved it?
- What's an instance where you realized you made a mistake? How did you identify it, and what did you take away from it?
- How do you determine when your code is ready for production deployment and user release?
Software Developer
So I spoke with the recruiter first, and that went well. Then there was a technical interview with two parts. The first part was like a casual questionnaire about programming stuff, and the second part was a screenshare where I had to code a challenge. It was a simple CRUD app with email integration. After that, we scheduled a meeting to present my solution. The interviewer didn't show up, so we rescheduled. Then, he ghosted again. Two days later, the recruiter contacted me asking what happened. I explained, and then I got a really unprofessional email that basically accused me of being late and not understanding timezones, which was weird because the first two meetings were fine time-wise. It seems like a disorganized company, even though the idea is cool. Heads up to the recruiter: be specific about CET/CEST.
- Can you explain what callback hell is?
- What are some scenarios where OOP would be preferred over FP, and vice versa?
Software Engineer
I was first contacted via email to set up an initial interview. During this interview, they gave a brief overview of the company and inquired about my software engineering and systems development experience. Following this, I was notified two days later that I had advanced to the technical interview stage. This technical interview involved a discussion about relevant technological concepts and my past software development expertise. Subsequently, I was asked to share my screen and was provided with a link to complete some tasks. I carried out these tasks and then sent the code to the interviewer. A day or two after that, I was extended an offer to join the company.
- Could you share details about a project you successfully finished?
- What do you hope to gain from this position?
- Tell me about your background in software engineering and systems development.
