Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UPMC.
Systems Analyst
I had two interviews, then they just ghosted me without a rejection or anything. The first one was with a recruiter, no technical stuff, just talked about soft skills and the role. The second one had someone from the team who asked some technical questions and a few basic SQL questions.
- Questions about basic SQL commands and tables were asked.
Systems Analyst
It started with a recruiter call, then a hiring manager interview, and we finished with a panel interview. The panel interview was with three people from totally different departments. It was weird because none of them could explain what they or their departments actually did. They also seemed really distracted and weren't paying much attention. Aside from that, the interview was pretty easy and mostly behavioral.
- Tell me about the company's values.
- Considering the company values, how would you approach various work scenarios?
Systems Analyst
So I had three interviews, first with the director of the department, then with some staff members from the department, and finally with technical folks from another team that works with us.
- Can you describe a challenging project you've worked on and explain what made it difficult?
