So first, I had to do this video recording where I answered some questions they sent over, did my best on it. It was set up via Interview Stream. After about 8 days, they reached out by email to set up a Zoom meeting with the principal. Waited a few days after that with no word. I sent a follow-up after 5 days and they told me I was basically hired and needed to come in for staff training. It's kind of weird though, because the actual hiring paperwork happened after I already went to staff meetings, which wasn't the expected order.

I had a virtual interview with a panel. They asked questions one by one, mostly scenario-based. The rest of the questions were about my experience and my clinical insight related to the role. I got the offer via email about a week later.

So first, I had a phone interview, and then they had me come on campus for an interview with the deans. They gave me a tour before the interview. During the interview, one dean led the process while the other typed out my responses. The main issue I had was that they had emailed me beforehand saying I'd be teaching a mini-lesson and I asked if they provided it or if I chose my own since it was only 10 minutes. They were vague, making it sound like they had one ready for me. That wasn't true, so when I got there after a five-hour trip, they had me create a math lesson on the spot. They were very nice and welcoming, talking to me like I was already part of the team, but the unclear communication about the lesson might be a sign of how they communicate with their staff.

I initially had a phone interview. Afterward, a principal reached out and invited me for a face-to-face interview at Uplift Williams Preparatory in West Dallas. The interview was with the High School Director and the High School Dean. Since I was an Alternative Certification candidate, I didn't have much prior teaching experience. They were aware of this and asked many questions about how I'd handled classroom situations before. I felt I didn't have enough examples to draw from, and they seemed unimpressed. It didn't feel like a good fit, so I'm not upset about not getting an offer.
