First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UpLift (CA).
Intern
The entire thing was an extremely smooth and seamless process. The interviewers were nice and the response times were great. The questions were very reasonable and applicable to the applied position.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your accomplishments?
Data Engineer
I interviewed for a Data Engineer role at Uplift. First, I had a recruiter call where I was asked 5 short technical questions. After that, I had a 45-minute technical interview with a team member. The questions were about Python and SQL, but the interviewer was not great and seemed to expect very specific answers. I also felt they lacked knowledge in some areas.
- Python questions covering joins
- SQL questions covering joins
Account Manager
It started with HR, then I spoke with the hiring manager to talk about my experience. Then there was a panel interview with people I'd be working with. It was more like a chat about my past experiences and they asked for my thoughts on what the team is currently working through.
- Could you walk me through your background from the start?
- Tell me about yourself, starting from the beginning.
Product Designer
The whole process was really collaborative and friendly. The interviewers made sure to explain each step and how we could work together. The design challenge itself was also a great experience, I felt like I learned a lot from them.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your journey into design?
- Describe your typical design process and how you approach collaboration.
- What's your strategy for resolving disagreements with colleagues, particularly engineers who may have alternative design ideas?
