Behavioral Presentation

It was 5 interviews in total. First, HR called, then I had 3 more chats with VPs, and finally, a panel interview with a presentation. The chats were pretty chill, the people were nice, but it felt like overkill since they all asked similar stuff, so 2 chats would've been enough. The panel involved a 30-minute presentation on a topic I picked. An extra person showed up on the panel who wasn't introduced. It looked like they didn't get the memo and some people had to leave the call early. After all that, I never heard back and saw on LinkedIn that someone else got the job, but I didn't even get a rejection email.

Don’t bother interviewing with this company. Communication is lacking and there are no updates after interviews. Their process is ridiculously long, like a FAANG company's, but the salary is that of a low-paying service company. I did the first assessment, then a coding round. The third round had two interviewers and was scheduled for 1.5 hours but went over 2 hours. After that, it's been radio silence - no feedback, no response. It's weird because I've interviewed with top product companies with just two technical rounds and got competitive offers. More rounds don't guarantee better evaluation; sometimes it just means the hiring process is bad. Candidates put in a lot of time and effort. The minimum is proper communication and feedback, not ghosting. There are many companies that respect candidates' time, are transparent, and offer fair compensation. Don't assume five rounds means they're picking top talent, especially when the salary doesn't match.

I applied online and heard back from the hiring manager to set up an interview. It was a video call, but it wasn't great. The hiring manager seemed really checked out the whole time, didn't give much feedback, and was kind of cold, like they were tired or not really there. They said I'd get feedback the next week, but I never did. I followed up but got no reply. It's been months now. It just felt really disappointing and unprofessional. I get that not every interview leads to a job, but good communication and basic respect are important. I hope companies think about how their interview process shows their values and treats people right.

So, there were 5 rounds in total. The first round was a quick aptitude test with 45 questions in 15 minutes. Then there was an assessment round, which had three parts: the first part was about MySQL with 12 questions, the second was about HTML, CSS, and JS to handle forms and validate them, and the third part was ROR-based, asking to create an Action Mailer.
