Store Manager
I'm in the final stage with UNTUCKit and they told me to do an 8-minute presentation on a topic I choose for a panel of executives from all over the country. They didn't give me any instructions on what to present. They gave examples like yoga, cooking, or dog tricks. I asked how this would show I can do the job, especially after talking to the regional manager, district leader, and store manager already. I still didn't get any answers. I looked online and couldn't find anything saying this is normal for UNTUCKit. I even asked other stores and they said they've never heard of it. It seems like a new, not well-thought-out part of the interview. So, I'd tell future candidates to prepare a performance or presentation that has nothing to do with the job, because that's what they seem to want. This whole part of the interview felt messy and didn't help figure out if I'm right for the job. Also, there wasn't much info about UNTUCKit's interviews on Indeed or Glassdoor. Some people said it was 'pretty easy' and involved talking to a few people before the main interview. Others said it was 'pretty lengthy' and the interviewers were 'extremely nice and welcoming.' But nobody mentioned this presentation thing, so it's probably new or just for some people. Basically, UNTUCKit might be trying new interview things, but the presentation part was unclear and not related to the job, which was annoying and didn't help me figure out if I was a good fit.
- Prepare an 8-minute presentation for a panel of interviewers on a topic unrelated to the job or store, and be unclear about the instructions.
Sales Associate
The hiring manager was really nice and on time for our chat. We talked about the job, the product, and how I could fit in. I was a bit hesitant about taking on another role because of my schedule, so she let me have some time to consider it.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- What relevant experience do you have?
- What are your thoughts on your potential contributions to the team?

I had a phone interview with the store manager, then they invited me in for an in-person interview where I got to tour the store. It was a really relaxed vibe. There was supposed to be a follow-up call with the DM, but they were on vacation. The whole process takes a while, but it's worth it. They don't do drug tests.
- How would you describe your management style?
- What is your approach to selling?

I emailed the store manager my cover letter and resume and she replied to me with a link to apply online. After that I received an email saying that they wanted to move forward with a face to face interview and was given the option to pick a time and date. So, I show up to the interview, I walk up to the manager and introduce myself. She takes me to the back room where we sit down and she asks me basic interview questions. So the interview is done and I’m feeling ok about it right until we start walking back out and she tells me “ I need to check your bag”. Seriously?! I was literally next to this woman the entire time. I don’t understand the reasoning behind her asking me that. It was totally uncalled for and I was caught so off guard! I would never work for them!!
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- Can you define what excellent customer service entails?
