Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Uno Restaurants.

It was a standard interview for a waiter position. They asked me about my experience, if I already knew the menu, and what I expected from the job. Overall, it was a very typical experience.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
- Have you had a chance to look at our menu?
- What are your job expectations?

I had my interview on the same day during the 2-4 pm business lull. The GM interviewed me first. Then, two days later, I had a second interview with the AGM, who is the one that hires people. Different managers interview differently, so there isn't one set way. Just know they're open 11 am to 2 am all year, including holidays, so scheduling can be tough if you have family. It's a good fit for college students or people who work late. They only take reservations for parties of 8 or more, and sometimes they check in after a table has been seated to make sure guests are happy.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
- What are your preferred genres of books, movies, and music?
Server
It took about two weeks for the manager to call me after the initial application. The interview itself lasted roughly 30 minutes. At the end of the conversation, the manager let me know immediately whether I got the job.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
- Are you someone who learns new things quickly?
