The interview is a way to get info from someone by asking them stuff. First, you get ready by figuring out why you're interviewing them and write down good questions. Then, you say hi, ask your questions nicely, really pay attention to their answers, and maybe ask more about what they said. Lastly, you say thanks and either go over the main things again or write down their answers to look at later.

The interviewer made me feel at ease even though I was a little anxious. Technical questions about C and digital electronics were asked, then a quick HR interview. It was a good learning experience overall, highlighting my strong points and areas needing work.

The recruiter reached out on LinkedIn with the job description. I expressed interest and booked a call. During the call, the recruiter, who is the only non-tech person on the 7-person team, asked about my background. I mentioned my familiarity with their MERN stack and OSS projects. He suggested I create a PR for improvements, which I later did. He then asked for my salary expectations, and after some back and forth, I stated around 100k. He mentioned the team is moving fast and the process should take 1-2 weeks. Despite contributing to their OSS repo, which was merged without changes, the recruiter ghosted me after I followed up multiple times.

- I need a number from you, what is it?

It's super frustrating. After passing the technical part, the HR team rejected me for reasons that don't make sense. They interviewed me even though my notice period is 90 days, and I passed the technical rounds. But then, in the HR round, they rejected me because my notice period was longer than another candidate's. This happened because I didn't mention that I had already received and rejected an offer from another company. If this was going to be an issue, they shouldn't have wasted my time. The tech interviewers said they were happy with my performance, so the HR India team needs to get updated.
- Could you elaborate on SOC and HITRUST?
- What is your understanding of audit and assurance?
