Univision General Intern Interview Questions

First, there was a one-on-one phone interview with my potential supervisor. If that went well, the second round was a one-way video interview managed by HR using the SparkHire platform. I don't think the supervisor, who makes the final hiring decision, sees the HR video, but it was in a trial phase and didn't count for much according to Miami HR. The supervisor ultimately decides to hire and handles it through HR.

A buddy of mine hooked me up with his boss, a really senior person who runs the whole department. He offered to do a phone chat, but I figured I'd make a better impression in person, so I flew out to NYC to meet him myself. I talked to him and another senior guy. The first meeting was pretty formal: they asked me to walk them through my resume, discuss my strengths and weaknesses, explain why I was interested in media and Univision, and how I'd approach valuing the broadcast rights for a certain property. The second interview was super laid-back, just a casual conversation about me, getting to know me. It seemed like I had the job if I wanted it, so he emailed HR to take over the rest. HR seemed a bit annoyed they were being bypassed and tried to do their own phone screenings, but it turned out they didn't have any real say in the end. So yeah, to snag an internship here, try to get a referral or connect with someone in the department you're targeting. A lot of the interns got their spots through networking like that.

It was a bit confusing because you might end up talking to different departments, which is cool for more chances but could get messy. HR took a couple weeks to give a clear answer.
