The interview process was chill and super helpful for students. First, I chatted with someone about what tech stuff I like and projects I've done. Then, we talked a bit about how I solve problems, basic coding ideas, and what I learned in school. They mostly wanted to see how I learn, talk, and tackle problems, not really if I had all the answers. It felt pretty collaborative and nice.

The interview was online and lasted about thirty minutes. It began with an introduction to the team and their goals, followed by a Q&A session. If the hiring manager liked the applicant after the Q&A, they might get to pick which project they want to work on.

I interviewed with UWOFA in April of 2025 and the whole thing took over a month. About two weeks after my first screening interview, I got an assignment out of the blue that I wasn't paid for. Then, for my final interview, four people were supposed to be there but one never showed up and it was never acknowledged, and another was 10 minutes late. No intros, no land acknowledgements, and no explanation of the interview structure. I only knew who they were 'cause I looked them up beforehand. They asked about 7 STAR questions. After that, I was totally ghosted. When I followed up, they said they went with someone who had 15+ years of experience and had been at Western for 10+ years already, so I doubt anyone else really had a shot.
