I was recruited for a PhD position, which involved a committee process. As an international student, my interview was conducted via Zoom with two people: the program director and a principal investigator I was keen on working with. They inquired about my past research work and what I'm interested in researching.

I applied online and then one of the professors reached out because they were interested in my application. We had a phone call, and after that, I was offered the fellowship for my PhD studies, which includes working as their research assistant.

It was a really simple process. I talked to a few professors who asked me stuff about my resume, what I'd done before, and my activities at university. They were really interested and it felt pretty chill and casual sometimes, which made talking easier. I did have to think about some questions about teamwork or what I'd do in certain situations, but it was a really comfortable and not stressful environment.
