Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Mississippi.
Intern
I applied online and after a few days, I got an email for a telephone interview. This was my first interview, and I didn't know what questions to expect. I wasn't prepared for some of their questions and sort of panicked. It was a good learning experience though, and now I know how to answer these types of questions for future interviews.
- Can you describe a time you faced a difficult situation and how you handled it?
Intern
The interview process was competitive and a bit disorganized. It seems like knowing people can help, as there's definitely some nepotism in the intern departments. However, I think I got the position based on my qualifications since I didn't know anyone.
- What is your motivation for wanting this role?
Intern
After submitting some paperwork, I was called in for an interview. They asked me some basic questions, nothing out of the ordinary. The interview focused on my prior training and experience. It went pretty well, and I was ultimately given an offer.
- Tell me about your basic interview questions.
