Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Maryland Medical Center.
Pharmacist
Met with leadership for a few interviews. They asked standard questions and it wasn't too tough. Just make sure you know your CV, be yourself, and know why you want to work there specifically. The hiring process involved HR stuff and paperwork. Got an email from an onboarding manager, and it was pretty straightforward.
- Why do you want to work at UMMC?
Pharmacist
The hiring process was extremely slow and unprofessional. It took over a month just to get a phone interview. The scheduled phone interview didn't happen at the time it was supposed to, and I had to follow up to reschedule. After that, I was told HR would be in touch in a few days about my application status. I didn't hear back for two weeks, so I reached out to the interviewer. They got back to me almost two weeks later, informing me they had hired someone else. I had to constantly chase for updates and ultimately found out I didn't get the job via a single email. It was a very unprofessional experience.
- What is your motivation for applying to UMMC?
- Can you describe your current work experience?
- What areas do you see for improvement in your experience or the field?
Pharmacy Technician
I got a call late in the evening about my interest in the job. A week later, I had an interview with around 6-7 people. It was about 5 hours long and included a tour. Two weeks later, I got the offer in writing and they scheduled me for orientation.
- You should get ready for a math quiz.
