I applied online through the university's student employment site, which lists part-time university jobs that are geared towards students. After I applied I got a request for an interview in the next couple days. The interview was probably the most relaxed I've been in an interview, the interviewers were all very nice and casual, even though it was a standard interview. I remember having to do a very small programming puzzle, but it wasn't anything super hard.

It's a one-on-one with the nurse manager, and sometimes HR is involved too, depending on the unit. Some managers can be a bit more intense than others. Usually, they'll show you around the unit. They also ask you if you have any questions and make sure you have plenty of time to ask them without feeling rushed.

Behavioral Presentation

I put in an application through the University of Iowa Health Care portal, which had listings for different lab positions. After some back-and-forth emails with the administrative assistant, they invited me for an in-person interview. The interview at the site was a brief 30-minute chat with the lab head, where he asked about my past experience and what I hoped to achieve in my career.

Behavioral Other

I had a phone interview, then got a call with a job offer, then the next day they called to say they'd called the wrong person and I didn't actually have the job. It was pretty unprofessional. The interviewer was nice, made it seem like I definitely had the job, then the next day they said I got it. Then the day after that, they rescinded the offer, so it was confusing.
