First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Connecticut.
Teaching Assistant
After a quick greeting, the interviewer told me about the job requirements. Then, they asked me 3 behavior questions and 4 questions about my past experiences. It was helpful to hear about the projects and tasks involved in the role from the interviewer during the chat.
- Do you have previous experience in a similar role?
- Describe how you've handled challenges in past positions.
Administrative Assistant
You'll need to send your resume over email first. Then, the office manager will call or email you to schedule an interview. The interview itself will be with the student manager and staff manager, and it should last about 30-55 minutes. Expect to hear back about an offer within a week or so.
- Can you tell me about any leadership roles you've had?
- What kind of customer service experience do you possess?
Intern
This role had 2 interview rounds. The questions were pretty simple. I applied for 3 different positions. First, I had an interview with the coordinator, and then for each position, I had another interview with the supervisor. Everyone who interviewed me was really nice and helpful!
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Describe a situation where you failed.
Gift Specialist
I had a screening interview for an entry level position that pays less than $50k. The third phase of the process was a 3-4 hour Zoom session with current staff members and department panelists. This seems excessive for such a low-level position. The man I interviewed with was great, but the process is broken.
- What makes you want to switch careers?
