Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Cincinnati.
Graduate Assistant
It was a really fast interview. They asked about my past experience as a GA, my research, and any articles I'd written. They also wanted to know how I could help the professor with their research and what makes me different from the other applicants.
- Tell me about your research background.
- What experience do you have as a Graduate Assistant?
- How would your skills benefit the professor's research?
Graduate Assistant
The interview included a technical round where they checked my knowledge about R, Tableau, and Data Analysis. They also asked about my understanding of Client Consultancy, work responsibilities, domain knowledge, tools I know, certifications I've done, programming languages I know, and kinds of projects I've done in the past.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- Can you discuss your previous work experiences?
Graduate Student
The interview was a standard behavioral interview that touched on academic accomplishments. It happened over the phone and felt pretty laid back. The department head and a professor interviewed me. I thought we'd dig deep into my academic history, but it seems my cover letter and resume already covered a lot of that.
- Can you tell me about your most significant accomplishment from your undergraduate studies?
