Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Cincinnati.
Program Coordinator
The interviewers were really nice, they seemed like genuinely interested people who wanted to understand my motivation for working in this field and specifically at UC. After they introduced themselves, I did a self-introduction as is typical. I was asked about my familiarity with their work. Then, they inquired about my past experiences and how they relate to the requirements of the role. After the interview, one of the interviewers provided some helpful feedback for future reference.
- What program would you choose to host here?
- If you got the job, what program would you host?
Program Coordinator
First I had a quick phone call, then a zoom meeting with 6 people, and then the in-person interview where two people from each department came in to speak with me. I also got a tour at the end.
- In a situation where you need to choose between different departments, how would you decide which one to prioritize?
Program Coordinator
It took about two months from when I first heard about the job to when I actually started working. There was just one interview, and it wasn't too tough. It was a really open conversation where they wanted to see how my past experience could fit what they needed. I was myself, and it went well.
- How do your past skills connect to performing tasks a, b, and c?
- Given a problem, how would you solve it?
