Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Calgary.
Coordinator
The interviews are pretty straightforward and they're conducted in a friendly, not scary setting. It's more of a behavioural style interview. It usually ends up being a conversation about your previous work and what you learned from it. There's no HR person there, and usually 2 people are involved in the interview.
- Can you share a time you had to handle a conflict?
Administrative Coordinator
I had a formal sit down interview with the department manager and their director support. It was fully of excellent questions and thought provoking discussion. We discussed the role at length and walked through some typical scenarios and then discussed culture and expectations.
- Can you share an instance where you had a difficult time working with someone and describe how you resolved that situation?
Program Coordinator
The interview process was very straight forward. I got an email for an in-person interview invite on the first round. They asked about experience and basic interview questions related to the job.
- Can you describe your experience?
