Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Bristol.
Research Assistant
The interview took place at the department and was pretty informal. They asked job-related questions, and I received an offer a few days later.
- How are you qualified for this role, and can you elaborate on your previous experiences?
- Could you detail your past experiences and explain what makes you a good fit for this position?
Research Assistant
I interviewed with the head of the group and another senior member. They didn't ask super deep technical questions, but I guess it really depends on the group you're applying to since the interview process can be quite different.
- Do you have prior experience with programming?
- Tell me about your previous research activities and education.
Research Assistant
The interview was a single session that lasted for about an hour and a half. It was primarily a technical discussion, and there was ample opportunity for me to ask my own questions. The overall atmosphere was quite relaxed.
- Can you share an instance when you last utilized the XYZ algorithm?
