I presented my proposed research in a powerpoint to a panel. The panel consisted of two university supervisors and one funding source representative. They gave me feedback, and I got the decision the next day. They also asked me about my timeline for finishing the research and what my ideal research scenario would be.
- Can you tell me about your timeline for carrying out the research?
- What would your ideal research scenario look like?
PhD Student
I had an individual interview where I was asked questions about my motivations and objectives for pursuing a PhD in sustainable transport. There were not many technical questions. It was a friendly and positive experience overall. This was for the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
- What did you learn from your Master's thesis?
- Tell me about your motivations for pursuing a PhD in sustainable transport.

I reached out to my potential supervisor via email. He requested my MSc term papers and some information about my research project idea. We then scheduled a meeting at the university for a direct conversation. I met the lab members and presented my proposal to the team. Afterwards, we had more one-on-one discussions about the project's work plan.

- Could you elaborate on your proposed research project and your planned methodology?
