First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Arkansas.
Administrative Assistant
Applying for the role was a nightmare. After submitting my application, four weeks went by. By then, I had already accepted a position elsewhere, and that's when they contacted me about an interview. It's tough to be unemployed for that long.
- Are you good at working with students?
Administrative Assistant
Applied online, got a call about a week and a half later for a phone interview with 2 people. A few days later, I had an in-person interview with 7 people. They said background checks and HR paperwork would take two weeks. A little over two weeks later, they called saying the process was taking a bit longer and I should hear back by the end of the week, and that my background check was being done. After a couple of days, I got the job offer. The whole thing took less than a month, and everyone was really nice and direct.
- What makes you the best candidate for this role?
Administrative
The interview process took about 5 weeks with 3 interviews total (1 phone interview and 2 in person panel interviews). 5 weeks was how long it took them to tell me they needed someone who already knew the computer system, and that was my ONLY downfall. Otherwise i was a great candidate according to them. This was for a very entry level role, meaning skills are easily taught. my advice—start as a RazorTemp if you really want to work here and if you were never a student. Its not completely the university’s fault, its the government that makes these extensive requirments for employment. Nonetheless, a lot of my time and energy was wasted. I cant stand how political everything has become!
