Got an email from a recruiter about the team's interest, then a call with HR to set up a time. Then I went in for an in-person interview with the manager and ANM. They showed me around the unit. Asked some pretty standard questions. Got the offer via email and a call from HR.

It was a great interview, and I really enjoyed speaking with the team. However, I haven’t heard back regarding their final decision, and I’m still very interested in the opportunity.

Financial Affairs Coordinator
It was a relaxed interview, with really nice and friendly managers. There weren't any hard questions, just a casual chat. The main thing is to see if you vibe with the managers and if you'd actually want to work for the department. UAB is massive, and some departments are way better to work for than others.

Postdoctoral Fellow
Great school for a postdoc with cutting-edge infrastructure and a great research environment. Mentors and grad students are great too. For international candidates, interviews are usually virtual, but those in the US might get to visit. Birmingham is a medium-sized city with all the necessities for living.
