First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University Health.
Social Worker
They asked me about my experience for the PRN role and my available hours. I talked about my crisis intervention skills, how I do psychosocial assessments, and the strengths perspective I learned in my Social Work program.
- In situations where you and a co-worker disagree on a patient's care plan, how would you handle it?
Mental Health Professional
There were two phone screening interviews. The first phone screening was basically to see if the supervisor liked your qualifications. The second phone interview was a second screening with more in-depth questions about work history, educational history, and internships/licensure. The final interview was in person with all supervisors. There were three individuals in my interview and the supervisor who completed my two phone screenings showed me around after the in-person interview.
- What is your greatest accomplishment and why?
Care Coordinator
I applied online. The recruiter found my resume and then called me to check my interest in the position. They asked me some questions about the job to make sure I was really into it. After that, they had me come in for a behavioral test, like a people skills test. I passed that, so the recruiter called to set up the interview with the hiring manager. I did well in that interview, and then the recruiter called with a job offer. They offered $1 less per hour than I wanted, so I told them I was looking for $1 more than they offered. They came back with a counter offer of the extra $1 I asked for, and then added an extra 50 cents on top. I was happy with that.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenging customer or coworker, and describe how you managed the situation?
Patient Access Representative
It was really professional and conversational. The interviewer described the position, asked me some questions for about 20 minutes that were "behavioral" in nature, and then gave me a quick tour of the place. It was pretty informal, we sat in chairs in her office. We also walked around the office and I got to meet some of the people who work there.
- Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult client?
- Tell me about a time you exceeded expectations in your job.
