It was a really open chat with my manager, she really wanted to get a feel for my work ethic and how I handle my workload. Just one round total, my advice is just be upfront about your capacity!

It was a long but really competitive process. I had to go through several in-person interviews and stages. The interviews were pretty professional, they asked stuff about my classes and what I've done before, but also dug into my career goals and what companies I'm interested in working for.

First, they screen your CV and application to see if you have the right technical background (like engineering, electronics, physics, mechanics) and hands-on experience. If you seem like a good fit, they'll invite you to take an online test. This test lasts 90 minutes and is probably a mix of multiple-choice questions, short calculations, and some reasoning problems. It'll cover electromechanics and vacuum systems (which are important for medical or industrial machines), basic analog and digital electronics, thermodynamics, and applied physics. You'll also have some math, spatial reasoning, and maybe some Excel for handling data. The main goal here is to check your basic technical skills and how well you can solve problems.

I did well in my Deep Learning class and reached out to my professor for an opportunity. He gave me a take-home assignment. After I finished it, I had a call with him to discuss the work and responsibilities.
